Amber Yancey

Amber earned the prestigious Certificate of Dance from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City where she performed with the student repertoire. While living in New York, Amber appeared in music videos with Robin S and Shawnee Ranks. She also appeared in a movie titled, “Closing Notice,” featuring legendary choreographer, Donald Byrd.

Amber’s company work includes: Co-founder and assistant director of the award-winning Urban Moves Dance Company, Artistic Director for the Bally Total Fitness Dance/Fitness Team, original member of Culture Shock Washington DC, and choreographer and dancer with the Adrenaline Dance Company. She has also made several appearances with Grammy Award winning artist Monica, local recording artist Treniti, and worked with the D.A.R.E Dance program.

As president of Jus’ Rhythm she has choreographed for the WNBA’s Mystics Mayhem Dance Team, assisted with the Redskins Allstar Kids Dance Team and other teams and companies throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Amber’s video-for-retail credits include: five Yoga videos for Bally Total Fitness, two fitness videos for MJ Express, and starring in her own kids hip-hop instructional video to be released soon.

In her youth, Amber trained extensively in musical theatre with the Coconut Grove Children’s Theatre and the Miami Junior High School of the Performing Arts, Southwood. She acted and danced competitively and won numerous awards and titles for her work. Amber still reflects on those experiences today when directing other performers.
