Jeremi Ellis

Jeremi Ellis is from Woodbridge, VA; about 20 miles south of Washington DC. He has over 12 years of performing arts experience including show choir, concert choir, theatre, and dance. He has performed with the show choir, "Dominants", on stage at Wolfe Trap with Barry Manilow and has even shared the stage with Rosie O'Donnell as a performer and speaker in the "Stand For Children" meeting on The National Mall in Washington DC.

After a year of studying music at Averett University, Jeremi decided to move on to traveling as a performer. In 1998 he was asked to join "Up With People", an international exchange program that travels around the world performing and giving back to each community. That year Jeremi and his cast of 150 traveled around the United States, Belgium, Austria, France, and Japan. While in Japan, Jeremi performed for the President of Toyota at The Big Holliday Festival in Tokyo Japan.

Jeremi continued to travel with "Up With People" as the Male Dance Captain and in 1999 he added Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and London to the list of places he was touring. That year Jeremi sang the National Anthem at the LA Dodgers game, was on "Good Morning Milwaukee," and "Good Morning San Diego." He also had the honor to perform again for the president of Toyota at The Big Holliday Festival in Tokyo, Japan.

Jeremi moved to Denver, CO the following year where he worked in the special events department for "Up With People" and performed with Jay Leno for Collon Powell. He also performed at Six Flags Elitch Gardens in the Broadway Review Show and joined a local R&B group "Piece Of Mind." He then found his way to Guam to perform in Jerry Jackson's "Le Fantastique" at The Sand Castle in Tumon, Guam. Jeremi stayed in Guam from 2001-2003 as the Lead Male/ Master of Ceremonies.

In 2003 Jeremi moved back to the Metro Area and continued his performing career. He became a semi-finalist on Missy Elliott's "Road to Stardom," then joined local hip-hop dance troupe X-Faction. In 2005 Jeremi auditioned for "The Capitol Movement Project." Through "The Capitol Movement Project," Jeremi has performed at the historic Lincoln Theatre and for Diddy, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, and many other celebrities at the "Radio One 25th Anniversay" awards ceremony. Has also performed with local R&B artist Ki-Mani on BET's "106th and Park."

Today, Jeremi shares his passion of the stage with the students of Woodbridge Academy of Dance, where he teaches Musical Theatre and Vocals and is a performer, choreographer, and PR Director for Capitol Movement, Inc.
