"On behalf of everyone
at the Hoop Dreams Scholarship fund, I want to extend a huge and heartfelt
thank you to Stephanie Jojokian and Amber Yancey for their amazing ability
to see their dream of the Capitol Movement Project to fruition with
such energy, vision, passion, and endless creativity. We were deeply
honored and grateful to be their charity beneficiary and partner with
their inaugural show and this extremely special project. We are inspired
by their commitment and tenacity and thrilled to have the proceeds from
the night's event benefit our organization and the dreams of the hundreds
of hardworking DC public high school students we work with so they can
pursue their own dreams of a college education and a more enrished life!
A very big thank you to the performers involved in the Capitol Movement
Project who also gave so much of themselves to put on this spectacular
show... it was a true celebration of what is possible when believing
in your dreams and achieving them through hard work and incredible deetermination.
Thank you, Stephanie, Amber, and all the CMP performers from everyone
at the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund!"

"Let me be one of
the first to say "newcomers stir up dance community." The
Capitol Movement Project's Hoop Dreams Fundraiser was an ensemble of
dance performances that let the world know the performing arts are ALIVE
in Washington, DC. Held at the historic Lincoln Theater, the night showcased
a combination of skillfully danced modern, jazz, and hip hop numbers.
The audience begging for more, lingered outside on U street for a chance
to celebrate with the performers. Some of the choreographed pieces were
as good as any being performed today. Make room for The Capitol Movement
Project."
