	Company Classes Get a chance to train with resident instructors and choreographers from the Capitol Movement Project! Instructors include choreographers, CMP cast members and directors; and classes are open to the public. We represent dance in all its forms and styles as this transcends all boundaries and nurtures our mission. Thus, company classes encompass a full range of dance styles. 	Workshops CLICK TO VIEW PAST CHOREOGRAPHERS CMI strives to elevate the quality and integrity of dance instruction and performance in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The workshops and classes we offer are designed to challenge dancers to reach their skill and performance potential. All class and workshop levels have been set based on professional industry standards to help prepare dancers for work in a real performance and company setting. Choreographers from Washington, DC, New York City, and Los Angeles present audition workshops for CMI to give dancers in the DC Metropolitan area an opportunity to work with the industry’s elite. At the conclusion of each workshop, the featured choreographer selects a cast of dancers to perform their pieces in “The Capitol Movement Project” annual dance concert. Photo by Rui Barros Photography	CMI Kidz CMI Kidz program is continually growing. This is the second season that CMI has been invited to direct the Junior Wizards Dance Team. Young dancers between the ages of 8-12 can audition to perform on the NBA court at 12 home games during the 2008-2009 season. *Details about Junior Wizards auditions posted below. Another opportunity for youth of all ages is to perform in the annual dance concert, “The Capitol Movement Project” (CMP). Once dancers are in the cast, they train in our company classes at reduced rates and are pushed as professionals for the concert and other performances. CMI Kidz has the opportunity to dance with all other ages ranging between 4-43 and have many mentors at their disposal. CMI also offers intense summer training in the form of camps, conventions and workshops. Our kids have performed for Diddy, the Congressional Black Caucus, NBA Fans, in TV pilots, and who knows what is next? 2008 Capital Kidz and CMI Kidz Pre-Professional Program Auditions Sunday August 24, 2008 5:00pm-7:30pm Results the Gym, 315 G Street SE Audition to perform at 8-10 Washington Wizards home games as the Capital Kidz! This group performs many fun and challenging hip hop routines. Ages range from 7-12 years old and parents receive a ticket to each home game performance. The Audition Class will be given by J.Kevin Aguilar & Jeremi Ellis (Capitol Movement choreographers and performers in Step Up II). Kevin and Jeremi will also be selecting dancers ages 18 and under for our pre-professional program CMI Kidz. They will be setting a hip hop piece to be performed at the 2009 Capitol Movement Project concert March 7th at the Lincoln Theatre as well as other events and programs. 	Capitol Movement Summer Camp Intensives CMI provides your child an opportunity to study with staff from the CMI in a two-day summer intensive program. Training includes jazz technique, modern and hip-hop. At the conclusion of each camp, students display choreography they learned for family and friends. Click here for information.
