Giving Tuesday 2026: Keep Dance Free for DC Kids
Help us close a $30,000 funding gap and keep our programs free for young dancers across the District.
$30,000
Our Giving Tuesday goal
As we kick off our new season, we are facing an unexpected challenge: CMI recently lost a crucial grant, leaving a large annual funding gap. This resource directly funded our Free After-School Dance Outreach Program, Free Day of Dance Matinee, and CMI youth companies. This has a larger ripple effect in vital creative outlets for youth across the District.
If you'd consider donating, it would mean so much. $250, $500, $1,000—whatever feels comfortable. It all goes toward keeping the program going and keeping it free for the kids.

Capitol Movement Houses
The CMI House System is designed to foster teamwork, develop leadership, and build meaningful relationships across our CMI community. Members have opportunities to earn points for their Houses by participating in community events, demonstrating support for one another through attendance, and contributing to fundraising initiatives.
Throughout the year, Houses will come together to celebrate company milestones, work toward shared goals, and strengthen connections across our organization. Above all, the House System is about creating a welcoming sense of belonging, building lasting friendships, and making CMI feel like one big family.
